collaborationI'm looking for creatives!  Although I have a fairly diverse range of marketing and design skills, occasionally I need to collaborate with a specialist creative in order to achieve the best quality results for my clients.  Please e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are a talented UK-based freelancer in any of the following disciplines: Illustration (ideally using Adobe Illustrator), Product Photography, Video/Audio Editing.  I'm only putting together a contact list at the moment, but this list will be my first port of call the next time I need skilled assistance!

Make Marketing Resolutions for 2010

I would just like to wish all the customers and friends of Small Dog Marketing a very happy New Year!

In addition to eating less chocolate and going to bed earlier, I am also going to make a few resolutions for Small Dog Marketing this year. The start of a new decade has to be a good time to make a few changes. One resolution will be to update this blog more regularly. In terms of Search Engine Optimisation, web design can only manage so much. Regularly updated and relevant content can work wonders!

If you need some help making marketing New Year's resolutions for your business, give me a call on 01206 511491. I'd be happy to have a chat and then e-mail you a few ideas. You may be surprised to discover that not every marketing idea costs money!

Small Dog Marketing Page on Facebook

Most of the marketing and web design commissions that I get are through referrals. This is great, but it's always nice to have more! One way to encourage this is to promote your organisation on Facebook. It is free (for page creation) and allows your contacts to catch up with your latest news as well as to share your page easily with their own contacts.

I set up a page for Small Dog Marketing and asked clients and friends to become fans so that I could gain the 25 fans needed to get a real page name from Facebook (with under 25 fans, Facebook allocates the page a long number id). I publicised my mission on the page itself and on my personal Facebook page. Last night, I was very pleased to see that my 25th fan was in place and Facebook allowed me to select the page name of my choice. A great advantage of this is that the page acquires a much more user-friendly and memorable URL. Feel free to check out my page at: http://www.facebook.com/smalldogmarketing

New Website

small-dog-marketing-new-website

Hope that you like the new website. It doesn't seem that long since I built the last website for Small Dog Marketing, but times have changed and I am now looking to find new customers after previously working mainly for existing contacts and referrals. The last website was an experimental adventure of exciting technology and innovative design. I had certainly never had the opportunity to put a bouncing link on any client site! I hope that this site captures some of the fun of my previous site, while being more relevant to those looking for a corporate marketing solution. Please let me know what you think and if there is anything that you would like to see demonstrated on the site. I am thinking of adding an online booking facility for the free introductory consultations I offer to prospective clients. How about it?

I must just mention briefly, before lots of people suggets that I change the colours of the site, that this is one point where I am going to stick my feet in the mud (literally). The colours are the colours of my dog Dylan, the inspiration and logo celebrity of Small Dog Marketing. He is brown, tan, black and white. Try telling him that he doesn't match...
